Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions for Lyric Dance School.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting an enrolment form.
They apply to all students, including those currently attending classes.
1. Enrolment & Annual Commitment
- Enrolment at Lyric Dance School is annual, securing your child’s place in a weekly class for the school year.
- Students are automatically enrolled each term; re-booking is not required unless cancelling or changing classes.
- Families are encouraged to enrol with the intention of completing the full school year.
2. Class Schedule & Lesson Structure
- Classes run during Queensland school term time only.
- Each class runs for approximately 40 lessons per year, with slight variations depending on the weekday and public holidays.
- Classes are kept small, with 12–14 students per class, to allow for personalised attention and high-quality tuition.
- A minimum of 5 students per class is required for the class to proceed.
- Families will be notified at least one week in advance if a class is cancelled.
- Lyric Dance School reserves the right to adjust timetables, venues, or teaching staff when necessary and will endeavour to notify families promptly.
3. Fees & Payments
- Monthly tuition payments run from February to November. No payments are taken in December or January.
- Fees are calculated based on the total number of lessons for each class day and are spread evenly over 10 monthly payments for convenience.
- Payments are automatically debited on the 1st of each month via credit or debit card and are processed securely through the online booking system.
- Monthly payments are installments of the annual fee and do not correspond to a specific number of lessons in any given month.
- Public holidays are factored into the annual pricing.
- Fees are non-refundable, including for:
- – Missed classes
- – Absences due to illness or holidays
- – Trial classes
- As class costs are fixed, fees remain payable regardless of attendance.
- Where availability allows, students may attend an alternative class as a make-up. Requests must be emailed to info@lyricdance.com.au.
Sibling & Multiple Class Discount
- The first child or first class in a family is charged at the standard rate.
- Enjoy 15% off when enrolling siblings or when your child attends more than one class. The discount applies to the lowest-priced class.
- Discounts are applied from the following month’s payment once enrolments are active.
- Discounts do not apply to trial classes.
Cover Payments for New Starters
- If your child joins mid-term, you will only be charged for the classes they attend before the first monthly payment is processed.
- A one-off cover payment will be added to your first invoice to cover these attended classes.
- This ensures you are only paying for classes already taken before regular monthly payments begin.
- Please note: the cover payment is non-refundable, as it applies to classes already attended.
4. Registration Fee
- First child: $60 per academic year
- Additional child: $20 per academic year – email us to receive a DISCOUNT CODE for checkout
- Secures your child’s place and contributes to administration, insurance, APRA music licensing, and professional exam memberships (RAD, IDTA)
- For additional children, the school subsidises the remaining costs; the $20 fee represents a contribution toward these services
- Registration fee is automatically renewed at the start of each academic year
5. Cancellation Policy
- Students may cancel enrolment at any point during the year by providing one month’s written notice.
- Fees continue for one final monthly payment after notice is given.
- Students may continue attending classes until the end of that final paid month.
Examples:
- Notice given 3 February → attendance continues until 31 March, with March payment covering that month.
- Notice given 28 February → attendance continues until 31 March, with March payment covering that month.
- Notice given 1 March → attendance continues until 30 April, with April payment covering that month.
Important: Monthly fees cover a full calendar month, even if there are fewer classes during that month.
Rejoining / Waiting List:
- If you wish to return after cancelling, your child may be placed on a waiting list, as we cannot guarantee availability in the same class.
- Students who cancel and return within 2 months are charged a $20 rejoining/admin fee to cover administration and scheduling costs.
6. Trial Classes
- Trial classes can be booked online at a discounted rate of $10 for two lessons.
- Trial fees are non-refundable.
- Trial dates may be transferred once only with at least 2 days’ notice.
- Following a trial, families will receive an email to confirm enrolment, which must be accepted within 2 days, otherwise the place will be released.
